Our First Dance

Music... its getting there. Here are the lyrics to our first dance.

Jack Johnson -Better together

[Verse 1:]
There's no combination of words
I could put on the back of a postcard,
No song that I could sing
But I can try for your heart,
Our dreams, and they are made out of real things,
Like a shoebox of photographs,
With sepiatone loving,
Love is the answer
At least for most of the questions in my heart ,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?
And how come it's so hard?
It's not always easy,
And sometimes life can be deceiving,
I'll tell you one thing, its always better when we're together

[Chorus:]
MMM, it's always better when we're together
Yeah, we'll look at the stars when we're together
Well, it's always better when we're together
Yeah, it's always better when we're together

[Verse 2:]
And all of these moments
Just might find their way into my dreams tonight
But I know that they'll be gone,
When the morning light sings
And brings new things,
But tomorrow night you see
That they'll be gone too,
Too many things I have to do,
But if all of these dreams might find their way
Into my day to day scene
I'll be under the impression,
I was somewhere in-between
With only two,
Just me and you
Not so many things we got to do,
Or places we got to be
We'll sit beneath the mango tree now

Yeah, it's always better when we're together
MMM, We're somewhere in-between together
Well, it's always better when we're together
Yeah, it's always better when we're together

MmMMmm MmMMm MmMMm
I believe in memories
They look so, so pretty when I sleep
Hey now, and when, and when I wake up,
You look so pretty sleeping next to me
But there is not enough time,
And there is no, no song I could sing
And there is no combination of words I could say
But I will still tell you one thing,
We're better together

Just play anything

So, other than the pile of to-be-constructed invitations on the dining room table, I'm doing a lot of thinking about what music to play when, again. So I might go over what I'm thinking.

For the processional, La Valse d'Amelie - thats for the bridesmaids

Processional for me: No idea, a happy instrumental song. (Maybe Portuguese theme from love actually?)

For the rest of the songs. I don't know when I might use what.

Power of love (from back to the future)- because it's so bad it's good

Open up some happiness (brought to you by Coke).

Lady Gaga - Bad romance - oh so not appropriate, but I love this song.

Don't stop believing - Because I'm a massive Gleek

Leaving on a jetplane (Is so late highschool)

The first song we danced to was at our formal in '02, but it was the Graduation song by Vitamin C. Not sure if I'll use it, might get the DJ to play it for not reason, other than reliving the moment when he whispered into my ear 'can you believe it'.

Daft Punk, around the world.

Sugar high - from Empire Records.

The song from love actually, all you need is love!

Cold Play - Yellow (this will probably be for when Yellow BM does a speech)

I also love the song by Owl City - Fireflies - Ri thinks its about drug use

There are some lovely love themes from Love Actually.

Everybody's Free- to feel good.

Chris Brown - Forever, so overused, but I like it.

Tik Tok - Keisha

Well there are some of the ideas from the last week or so. Any suggestions?

At Home From Work.

Hi there,
What’s on my mind lately?
Well firstly I am extremely frustrated I’ve had 2.5 days off work with a mystery illness (some where between a chronic migraine and a sinus infection, mum keeps saying H1N1 just to upset me). I just want to be back at work. At this rate I'll be back to work on Monday.
Wedding News:
We’ve been invited to a wedding in November, the beautiful bride to be has made the nicest pocket invitations that give me hope that it is possible to make your own invitations and have someone pick them up going “Did you make these?!” I’m very excited about their wedding and you’ll probably be hearing more about it after the fact.
Music: ah music, I’ve been thinking about wedding music since Rhys proposed, considering the typical wedding music makes me a little queasy, or my eyes involuntarily roll back. Songs I’m loving at the moment include:
Chris Brown – Forever
Black Eyed Peas – Tonight
And this is something I’m thinking for the procession of the bridal party:

The list of songs that we wont play is longer:
No Abba
No songs by Australian Idol contestants
No boybands
No sad break up songs (I've heard 'I will survive' played at a wedding)

We just want happy songs that are hopefully not cheesy... I'm way too particular about lyrics and will probably still be looking at what songs to play late next April.
