I haven't been sleeping very well, there has been an issue driving me to distraction.
I'm a little bit smarter than to blog what it is, but it left me feeling like a complete failure as a bride to be. And leaving me to toss and turn, so I'd only get 3-4 hours sleep.
I've obsessed over this one issue so much that I almost missed all the good things happening around me.
I almost missed exactly how many people are going out of their way to help.
I almost missed being happy and excited.

I'm happy that I've had people to guide me past it. I would have hated to miss out on feeling this excited.

Tori's Black Tie for women

I think heels and hair/make-up can make most dresses black tie. I tend to go out and buy a dress for each wedding I go to. But that's just me.
Does it have to be full length? I don't think so.

I'm not enjoying telling people how to dress. I thought everyone would see black tie and go sweet! a chance to dress up. I get a certain idea in my head and get stuck on it like, wouldn't it be nice for everyone to be dressed up? That's why I've labelled these blogs bridezilla.

In the end it won't really matter, as long as the people we invited are there, I don't think we'll even notice.

Tori's Black Tie for men

These are only my standards.I'm a Brisbane girl and realise that it can get hot.
I made the mistake of putting 'Black Tie' on our invitations. It's done and I don't want to undo it. But it was suppose to be fun. A chance to dress up. Not a major drama. So to start of with let's put out a minimum. Collared white shirt, black tie (does not have to be bow), black pants and nice enough shoes and a jacket would be nice.
My theory is if it can be done on a red carpet then it is black tie.

If it were me dressing Ri. Does he have black shoes? yes. White coloured shirt? yes
Black pants? yes. Jacket? No. Either borrow one from friend or find one at Vinnies (he had one that he bought for $3 from Vinnies - I think it died, but he got some wear out of it) or buy a simple black one he can wear again. Does he have a black tie? No. Borrow from my brother who I know has one. DONE.

Do they have to be in black and white? No. It just looks classic. Like you can't go wrong with simple black and white.

The actual engagement shoot

ARGH. Someone once told me that nothing will ever be as good or as bad as you imagine it will be.
Our e-shoot was on Tuesday the 13th of October. The day started out fine, I looked up in the morning disappointed to only be seeing one cloud. I happily got my make-up done and hair put up. It was only at 4pm, 30 minutes before we were meant to meet at Shorncliffe pier. The sky was cloudy, but skill blue. Our photographer (who was great) called us to say it was likely that it was going to rain. We're like, nah.
Another call. It started to RAIN. We were presented with the option of doing it another day. But I could not bare the idea. The hair, the make up, the facial, the NAILS! ARGH!! The only thing stopping me from crying was the make up.
When the photographer arrived the rain had stopped, so we walked out to the pier, then it started to POUR. My fringe fell out, my shoes filled with water. I felt awful.

After 10 the rain stopped and a rainbow came out. I'll post a photo asap.

Butter or Vanilla, Mint and Salmon

I've gone and decided on an impossible colour scheme. Yesterday we found so many beautiful dresses that either came in one or none of our colours.
Common Colours:
Black, Red, Blue (royal or Tiffany's), Chocolate, Purple, Lavender and a dark shade of pink.
I probably should have started looking sooner before getting attached. There is one brand great for having lots of colour choices "Alfred Angelo."

The most beautiful dress I saw was at Anne Marie and Mr John by "Angeline" it only came in mint. I almost considered putting all the girls in the same colour.

At the bridal centre we found a beautiful dress that has two layers, an under layer and an over layer of lace (and you can decide the colour of both). Hard to explain/do justice but I liked it alot, but it's very girly and I'm not sure if it'll suit all the beautiful bridesmaids.
My second favourite is a concept, a floor length chiffon dress with a sweet heart neckline.
There are four below, the short one is the one I tried to explain and the other three is my third favourite in our three impossible colours.

The first real disappointment

I'm so disappointed today. It's awful. It's always the way things seem to go...

When we first got engaged the only thing I knew for sure, and I mean with 100% certainty was who would do my hair for my wedding day. I've been going there since Feb 21 2003 and Rhys has been going there since forever, they did his sisters hair for her formal in 1999.
I was there today (in an attempt to make myself feel more human after over a week in bed) and I was discussing with my lovely hairdresser that I've started looking at inspiration for my wedding hair and then I asked, *so you'll do my hair even though the wedding is on a Sunday*
"No."

Just a no.
No if's or but's. A good friend of mine got married on a Sunday and the hairdresser just charged her an opening fee.

So now I'm hurt.
So now I cannot go back because I don't enjoying paying to be hurt, I'm in enough pain as it is thank you very much.
So now I need a new hairdresser. and so does Rhys.
